Oh the bunny ears….

I got the idea for making some bunny ears just like the ones I make for my mohair bunnies…complete with the gorgeous grosgrain bow I always use…for DOLLS…and I had to do it THE NEXT DAY. I was that excited about them. It took a little R&D as to how to do the headband. I wanted a real headband but really there are none to be found anywhere…but I figured it out. And they are super easy to pop on…and super gorgeous, covered with velvet ribbon on both sides…super secure.

Hares!!

SO, here are the first drove of hares, in a smaller size that the prototype. They are all in vintage crushed velvet, and all have acrylic eyes with human grade lashes. I’m kind of happy with them, especially all together as a group sitting on the table…

I finally developed a new bunny design, one I’ve wanted to do for a long time but FINALLY have gotten to. I’m calling them hares, because that’s how they seem to me. The prototype is in red vintage crushed velvet, and is bigger than I wanted it…but I always start off bigger and then shrink it down.This one also has eyes that I painted from blank glass cabochons, which took me FOREVER to figure out! Oh, and human grade false eyelashes…

Humpty dumpty…finally

It’s been my dream for such a long time to make a Humpty Dumpty. I finally decided now is the time. I started him about TWO months ago, and the basic egg was done and sculpted in felt for a while as I tried to come up with the best way to do his hands and outfit. It was a challenge, but I’m pretty happy with him.

He has all wool felted egg, face, legs and arms/hands. His shoes were store-bought (!). I used Irish linen for his shirt, all hand sewn, and an amazing rayon velvet in royal blue for his short pants. He has 3 gold buttons, and a very happy smile. As he sits here on my piano, he almost looks like he will start talking to me.

I was loving the pattern I made for Baby Bear and Goldilocks…so decided to make one in hot pink. hen I get on a bear kick, I always end up making some tinier ones as well.

Little Charlene is my attempt at going even a wee bit teenier with my “face bunnies”…and using the right mohair, it works pretty well…though I have a ways to go on the features for these tiny ones:

So, by popular demand (LOL!), I’ve decided to offer a pattern of my Cheshire Cat plush. It’s the first thing I’m listing in my new Etsy shop, offering patterns, kits, destash and supplies. It’s called Violetstash. I’m starting off with this pattern, in 2 sizes, offered as a PDF file via email. Very soon I plan to offer it also as a kit, and as a hard copy pattern.
